From Circle-A's 'About' Section: Circle-A Skateboards was started by professional freestyle skateboarder Bob Schmelzer in 1986 as a woodshop creating high quality skateboards. The skateshop opened in 1997 in Downtown San Jose, and the coffee cafe opened in 2018. In June 2023, the shop moved to its new location at 380 South 1st Street. For over 25 years, Circle-A has served the core skateboard community of Downtown San Jose and is committed to continue our role in providing you with professional service. Our shop hosts a variety events such as skate video premires, skate events, and art shows.
