Fairman’s Skate Shop was a landmark of Pennsylvania’s skateboarding scene for 47 years. Founded in 1977 by Dave Fairman, it began in his garage before becoming a storefront in Prospect Park and eventually relocating to West Chester in 1988. Fairman, a skateboarder since 1974, turned his love for the sport into a community-driven business that supported local skaters and artists alike. The shop became a launching pad for major names like Kerry Getz, Andrew Cannon, Bam Margera, and Mike Maldonado. It wasn’t just about gear—Fairman’s hosted art shows, and skate camps. In 2014, longtime team member Mike Moll took over, continuing the legacy with a focus on events, videos, and skatepark advocacy. Fairman’s officially closed in 2024, but Moll has plans to open a new shop, ensuring the spirit of Fairman’s lives on in the skate community.
