London-based Isle Skateboards is a modern skate company and art collective that uses decks as canvases for its distinct, contemporary graphics. The label was established in 2013 by skate pros Paul Shier and Nick Jensen alongside creative director Chris Aylen with the hopes of creating a new haven for London’s skate scene. Isle Skateboards conceptualizes each series and assembles source material ranging from abstract and textural paintings to mixed-media collages and sculptures before photographing and editing the visuals to be printed on seven-ply Canadian maple skateboards. Occupying the intersection of fine art and street skating, Isle Skateboards produces unique visual works for expressive riders.
