Sci-Fi Fantasy is an independent skateboard and apparel company founded in 2017 by professional skateboarder and photographer Jerry Hsu. Based on Hsu’s decades-long career in skateboarding, the brand began with small, self-funded releases, including a limited run of hats that were initially given away. Early attention came through Instagram, where cryptic imagery and understated product appearances replaced traditional marketing. Sci-Fi Fantasy operates without outside investors, with Hsu retaining full ownership and creative control. Initial offerings focused on small-batch apparel and accessories sold through direct online drops and select skate shops. In 2020, the company began releasing its first decks manufactured by BBS.
