Site Updates

Hey everyone, despite a year passing since our last update we have been continuously improving the site, adding new data, and even introduced an iOS app with Shazam song -> video matching!

Stuff We've Done

• iOS App: go download it on the iOS store, it has a sweet feature to shazam a song and take you to the video if there is a match
• Skater/Filmmaker Consolidation: skaters and filmmakers were separate entities in the database, we combined them under a single model to consolidate all of a person's videos in a single spot
• Music as a first class citizen: we have dedicated /songs and /artists pages, and most of the songs on videos are backed by Apple Music/Spotify/YouTube records
• Locations/Spots: we have a /locations page now which lists various real world places and spots related to videos
• Related Videos: video pages now show related videos, these can be based on shared skaters, companies, filmers, or tags.

Next Up

Public Submission Form

We want to enable the community to submit videos directly to the site again. This requires a bit more foundational work but is a top priority for the year. Thanks for sending submissions in via email and apologies if it takes me a while to add them.
