About XYZ Clothing XYZ Clothing originally began as a skate shop in Carlsbad, California in the summer of 92’. Fast forward three years later and skateboarding was banned in Carlsbad, which turned the skateboarding scene into a dust bowl. It was then that founders Danny Way and Tommy Caudill decided to focus on selling skateboard-inspired clothing instead.
